When to go

The observatory is open daily from 10 am to 9 pm, making an evening visit straightforward: arrive in the final hour to catch the transition from dusk to full nightscape. Clear winter nights tend to sharpen the view considerably, while summer evenings draw the largest crowds, so weekday visits or arriving close to opening time offer a more composed experience.
