Kyoto Kimono Rental SAKURA
Step into Kyoto's living tradition: kimono dressing near Shijo Karasuma
Tucked near the central crossroads of Shijo Karasuma, Kyoto Kimono Rental SAKURA is a reservation-priority boutique where dressing in a kimono feels unhurried and personal. The shop offers the same rental rate regardless of whether you are visiting as an adult, child, or a group of mixed company: a quietly egalitarian touch. In summer the wardrobe shifts to lighter yukata, and hair styling is included for rental customers, so you can step out looking the part from head to hem.
When to go
SAKURA opens on weekdays only, from 10:00 to 17:00, and is closed at weekends and on public holidays, so plan accordingly and book ahead. Arriving at opening gives you the most relaxed start before the streets of central Kyoto fill up through the afternoon.
“The bottom line is that the clients were happy. Initially, it was hard to choose a kimono as the selection wasn't very large. But the overall experience was good, with some nice photos and memories. I'd recommend them to add more selection of kimonos.”— Yuval K, Google review
