Okonomiyaki Workshop-Studio OKOSTA
Griddle your own Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki with the masters behind the sauce
OKOSTA is the hands-on cooking studio from Otafuku (the Hiroshima sauce-maker synonymous with okonomiyaki) tucked inside the ekie complex just two minutes from Hiroshima Station's north exit. In reservation-only sessions of around ninety minutes, certified instructors guide you through building and griddling a proper Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki from scratch, with toppings such as squid tempura to personalise your creation. Muslim-friendly, vegetarian, and gluten-free courses are available, making this a rare inclusive culinary experience in the city.
When to go
OKOSTA is open every day from 10 am to 8 pm, so there is genuine flexibility. Morning sessions tend to feel the most relaxed, while early evening slots suit those fitting a cooking class around a day of sightseeing. As sessions are reservation-only, book ahead to secure your preferred time.
