Kimono Hearts Hiroshima is a specialist rental and purchase studio dedicated to two of life's most celebrated Japanese rites of passage: the furisode worn at coming-of-age ceremonies and the hakama chosen for graduation day. With a curated stock of more than 1,000 items (spanning time-honoured classical motifs through to contemporary trends), the studio is designed around an evocative Taisho-romantic 'haikara library' concept, where browsing feels as considered as the garments themselves. It sits within the Hondori shopping arcade, making it an accessible stop in central Hiroshima.

When to go

The studio is open six days a week, 10 am to 7 pm, closing on Wednesdays. For milestone ceremonies, booking well ahead of the January coming-of-age season or spring graduation period is strongly advisable, as demand for popular furisode and hakama styles peaks sharply at those times.
